    Well you almost there.
1- Lock down your wireless router. This will prevent people from getting on your network from behind the firewall.
2-Window Firewall for Vista has already been cracked. However if your using a strong password and keeping it updated you should be OK.
    3, 4 and 5 – doing good.
6-You’ll need something for spam filtering.
7-You might want to think about site blocking. Like Blue Coat K9 Web Protection FREE for home use. http://www.k9webprotection.com/
8- if you do any IM thing you will need protection there too.
Well that’s should cover it. Now if you want to really be sure you can also get a hardware firewall as well.

Its about as secure as Windows will ever be which means that there is always a chance that you will pick up some malware from somewhere regardless of what anti virus apps you have on your system.

Yep. But if you want to game on your comp disable your anti-virus you won’t get any during gameplay.

You don’t need more. Just one more thing
Download and install “SpywareBlaster”. You need to update it and run it just once. It blocked all malicious webpages that can download DAWARE SPYWARE OR TROJAN, with just visit them. There are such sites too.http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareb…
    ————————————–
Also download Spybot S&D (FREE) and do periodical scans for spyware.
Even with firewall and anti-virus you still can infected from spyware ad-aware.
Such malicious programs Can’t damage your computer, but thewy can slow down performance and interne connection speed
So good to have an extra shield.http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybo…
    (for spybot)
Download ,install it , update it first and run it.
Immunize your system with the button on the left.
    ————————————–…
As your router has firewall you don’t need vista firewall. Also it could be conflicts, between them. Search rouiter options if you can change firewall properties in there, so you can handle all the programs the way you want.

If you have everything configured properly, it is probably pretty secure. There are websites that will probe your computer and tell you about security holes that they find. Do a bit of google research to find them if you are interested.

    1-Good
    2-Good
    3-Best AV out there
    4-Good
5-I’d recommend Firefox, but thats just personal preference
All in all, a very secure computer – just remember to keep your programs up to date.

Well, it is good. But keep in mind that if someone REALLY wanted in your system you are not safe. But the chances that Kevin Mitnik is going to get in trouble again is slim seeing that he is a security consultant.
Seriously though that is a good setup. Just make sure that the WAP is turned on the router or anything else on your network is pointless….. That is probably your weakest point in the set up. Make sure you run a 256 encryption between the computer and router and that will help. It also makes sure that without a password no one can steal your bandwidth.

The blocking of ads and cookies is sort of overkill, IMO. Security is more about what you DO on the net rather than what software you have installed. For instance, its not security smart to go hunting for program key generators. Its not security smart to look for ‘hacking’ programs. Its not security wise to look for ‘cracked’ versions of programs. Its not security smart to go looking for porn on the net.
    Make sense?
